4-Hours
My primary objective during the next few days is to acquire refrence images for robots and industrial machines. I want an array of robots in my scene so I'll need alot of images, along with refrence for the scenery.
Secondary is to find games which people complain the most about censorship in, but due to security on school computers I may not be able to access the sites where I could aquire this info.

Essential Question 4 starting questions
1. Human Resources. My dad is a big tech guy and stays updated on multiple geek news sites.

wiwtd
Well, I was thinking about what to do for my wiwtd and the first thing that came to my mind was 3D studio Max . I thought about what I still need to learn in it and I really haven’t used skins or textures much. Then I thought of what I cold make that had a lot of textures, but I couldn’t remember the word texture, I was thinking skins, so I came up with making a chimera. I don’t know whether I should go with the classic lion-goat-serpent chimera or make one of my own. I’ll probably doodle around and if I cant find anything better that’s what I’ll do. But maybe I should add some bird in there to get some feathers in. What is there other than feathers, fur and scale? There’s skin but that’s just fur without much, well, fur. If I do go for the classic chimera I don’t think I’ll give it a lion’s head. That’s been done so many times that I want to break away and try something else. I should give it a wolf head. Some sort of draconic forelegs. Bladey spikes down the back and big crow wings. The back legs can be feline. Let’s go for a scorpion tail. Wow, I just came up with an awesome idea, thanks stream of consciousness typing. You’re my best friend ever.

YAY! I thought up a way to combine my website into one page and it worked! I had a little problem with the buttons but you (if the person reading this is indeed Mr. Fitzer) helped me out with that, so I now have a combined and linked site, complete with fancy buttons! now I need text to put on my pages work on the music, and... that's about it. I should figure out how to upload pictures for my portfolio too.

I'm pleased with the progress I made today, after watching you do the preloader tutorial it reminded me of how to fix the problems I have been having with my project. So today I finished all of my animation on the first page of my site, so that and my preloader are done. Now that I know what to do the bio and portfolio pages should fall into place in good order. After that I just have to figure out how to put all the pages together and link them.

So far I’ve gotten a lot of artwork done for my site but I’m having trouble with the actual interactivity and such of it. I’m still not sure how to merge all my files together and I’m also having issues with some of the background animation, particularly the stars, which are a feature of every page. I’m also stuck on the text for my site, everything I come up with sounds flat and boring, which is kind of the opposite of the point of the project. On the other hand every time I come up with something good sounding it seems like bragging which I refuse to do. Overall I’ve fallen into a bit of a funk and my inspiration levels are way down, so while I started out strong I’ve kind of died halfway through. I need to find something to wake me up and get me back into fighting shape. Maybe small fuzzy animals are the key? Well tomorrows a new day, maybe I’ll be better then.

Portfolio update
Today I think I got essentially done with the artwork for my site. I've started animating parts of it but I realized I need to move all my art into one file, but i'm not sure how to do that. I probabbly need to write up some text for my site too, I wonder what I should put on my bio...Oh well, i'll figure it out eventually.

Today I worked on the art of my website, I had another go at the mainpage, and made it look less flat. Once I did that I started work on the actual portfolio page, but I only got a couple of minutes work on it.

BPA Competition
I’m not very confident about our computer animation contest. We just had too many little things that we didn’t catch in our final product for me to think we have a chance. We forgot to add music, one of the explosions didn’t have any sound, and we had trouble even getting our equipment to work. Also the fact that we had to wait an extra hour upstairs, standing around and stressing out didn’t really help our overall performance. The one good thing is that if I can do this competition again next year I think I could do really well. Most of our problems were caused by inexperience and us fumbling around not quite knowing what was going on.
Overall I would have to say the competition was a bad experience for me. Other than when I got to model and animate I never enjoyed myself and I also had to deal with group members that I found vexing to say the least. Two group members who shall remain nameless improved over the course of the project and were workable with, but another member had an extremely pessimistic attitude and became the annoying voice of doom, escalating in his portents of death (literally) right up till we parted ways after the competition, which did nothing but hurt moral and annoy the rest of us.

what i did
Today I eventually found a nice starscape to use for our background after looking long in vain for a star tutorial. After that I turned our first robot from a floating head into a legless body, though i may redo the arms, I don't really like how they turned out.
Things to do
1. Finish making the charachters
2. Make sure the spaceship is modeled well
3. Find needed sound affects

Today I will be recording the voices for our animation. I don't know how long that will take but after i'm done I intend to check up on the other members of my team, and then help make sure our final planning for our setting is done. After I'm sure we have all our plans laid out I'll get to work modeling whatever hasn't been made yet.
The IMD day is almost over and we completed the audio recording. It took quite awhile, we had te do about 15 test runs before we were happy with our product, and than with technical difficulties it took a good chunk of the day. After that I advised Nic for awhile before taking over and sending him off to work on the desk instead of the charachter faces.

BPA work
Today I spent the day working on the script for our animation. It still feels incomplete but considering how much time the various animations will take it actually fits in our 2 minute time frame pretty well.
